| Posted: | | | | Could a Visual Effects Coordinator be added & credited when no Visual Effects Supervisor is credited anywhere in the credits, using the Special Effects Coordinator rule at the bottom of the crew table?

| Posted: | | | | Personally, I'd probably not add them. The rule specifies only "special effects coordinators", no other type. |

| Posted: | | | | I have been thinking about this, but hadn't responded because I wasn't sure which way to go. Now that I have had time, I also agree with northbloke. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | It seems a bit odd that you can add a Special Effects Coordinator to Visual Effects but you can't add Visual Effects Coordinator.
Really there should be separate Visual Effects and Special Effects credits in DVDP because they are completely different things. |

I thought it was a very odd choice for the name of the crew section when it was first introduced. I doubt they'll ever be separated but at least "Special Effects" is a vaguer term and can encompass visual effects whereas the opposite is not always true. |

If one heading is to be used for all types of effects then really it should be just "Effects" |

| Posted: | | | | Agreed. As far as I've understood this from the beginning, the "visual effects" credited was originally intended for the film's main "visual effects supervisor", and nothing else. As with so many other credits, though, things quickly spiraled out of control, into the huge and far too broad spectrum of jobs we lump together into it now. |
