| Posted: | | | | I'm trying to figure out how to handle the crew of Far and Away (Ron Howard, Tom Cruise film)
I can't do screencaps, so I'll list the credits as closely as I can to the actual.
From the opening credits.
Costumes Designed by Joanna Johnston Production Designer Allan Cameron Production Designer Jack T. Collis
From the End Credits
After the cast and Stunt Players/United States and Stunt Players/Ireland.
International Crew
Key Makeup Artist Richard Dean Makeup Artist Edouard F. Henriques III Mr. Cruise's Makeup Michael Laudati Key Costume Supervisor Pam Wise
Unites States Crew
Art Director Jack Senter Special Effects Coordinator Lawrence J. Cavanaugh Makeup Rod Wilson Costume Supervisor James Tyson
Ireland Crew
Art Director Steve Spence Art Director Tony Reading Special Effects Supervisor John Richardson Makeup Artist Tony Delany Costume Supervisor Rhona McGuirke
Do these get any credit? If not (because of NO Unit crew rule) then it looks like no makeup, costume supervisors, art directors or special effects people get any credit. |

| Posted: | | | | I would consider these to be Location Crew so personally would have no objection if they were included with dividers (Group) |

| Posted: | | | | I'm with ninehours - there was a lively discussion about the differences between unit crew & location crew, and from what you are describing, I'd say this falls under location crew. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

Episode dividers, these are proper divisions, and I would guess that you will also find sound crew within those locations. "Group Dividers will not allow for a proper segregation of jobs.

| Posted: | | | | When I come across such credits I check the next two conditions:
A: Unit isn't mentioned at all, the location only -> Location Crew
B: Some crew (Art Directors and the Special Effects crew in this example) aren't credited in the main crew credits and are credited per location.
Make-up and Costumes crew are credited in the main section of the crew credits. But I don't think it's right to add the location special effects supervisor and art directors only. | | | Cor |

Indeed they won't, but that doesn't turn a bunch of location crew into any kind of an "episode"... As is so often the case with the various kinds of divider abuse we've seen, people think of some kind of desired end result, and then go in search of whatever tool that lets him achieve that end result. In this case, episode dividers may well achieve what you want to achieve, but it's just not what they're there for. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

Charlie I understand what you're saying but agree with the others that we have to use "group" dividers. What I do in these circumstances is repeat the divider in each relevant crew section. Not ideal but preserves the info I think we're after. |
