| | Posted: | | | | I'm always super envious that The United States can get their hands on the latest Apple products 'MONTHS' before Apple allows that product to be sold abroad. When I-Pad was released I was mad that we had to wait four months, and for good reason., There was no product to be sold anyway , since it was a runaway hit.. But this latest adventure with the IPhone 4G is great, as when it wlll be finally ( still not yet) released in Canada we'll more than likely get the' next generation' (what with all the antenae problems) and I thank you USA for testing the I-phone 1st - for the Apple Company .. Thankyou ....  This story never gets stale and is in the news every day ..... How many of you have the 4G phone? I hear now that Motorola has brought out a 4G phone.. Maybe I should look into that product over the next few months while Apple sorts out their issues with the American people first . | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. The iPhone 4 disaster is one thing, and all the problems with iOS4 in upgrading 3G phones makes one wonder if they hired a bunch of Microsoft QC people or something. Is Canada's Amazon Web site a ripoff or what? .. Looking at the (i.e) Wanted Dead Or Alive complete 94 episode (11 discs) Complete Season set for $16.49 , (1 day shipping for orders over $25.00) .,, ? Canada's Amazon site? $27.99 and orders over $39.00 can get 5 day shipping  .. The CDN dollar today is trading at .94.7 US for Canadian dollar ..  This is why I don't use Amazon movie sales. and Netflick's ? Not available in Canada... and EVEN if we did have the equivalent it too would be no where close to the value of what Netflicks give to their American customers.. On the other hand, my experience is that Amazon CA often ships faster than Amazon US (to Europe anyway), and of course they have some movies (French in particular) that Amazon US and even Amazon FR don't have.

Have you tried Zip.ca? I've been a member since 2004 and have no complaints. I do think their plans are a couple more bucks than Netflix', but it works great. True, they don't have streaming, which would be awesome, but even for just the mail rental system it's well worth it to me. I know, that happens occasionally when importing to Europe (19% sales tax and 15 Euro handling fee), including a 4-6 weeks delay (solution: small packages and accept the higher transport costs), but I thought the US and Canada were together in some customs union? | | | | Hans |

I've never paid brokerage, GST, PST or HST on any book, or movie ordered from Amazon.com and being sent to Canada unless it is some obscure item not normally available in Canada. Everything else comes in an Amazon.ca box and is shipped from the normal Canadian warehouse. Sans taxes and brokerage.
