Seems your're getting rid of that unfunny "BLEEEEP" and are allowed to watch mild nudity again.

It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Obviously you underestimate the puritan heritage of the United States.  We'd sooner allow graphic beheadings to be aired than nudity.

Yes, I always liked this about the FCC-rules: Violence is allowed, even on kid's TV, but show a nipple and the end of the world is near.

But if I understood this decision correctly, the FCC rule from 2004 is now repealed. So the stations are now allowed to air indecent language and nudity. It's a totally different question what they actually do air. But I expect at least the late night shows to be a lot less censored.

This will be a great loss for German TV, because many American celebs enjoyed to appear here, because the could use swear words without being bleeped Kid Rock even appeared with a bottle of beer (unthinkable in the US), all in all they behaved like little children which had their first "do anything you like"-day. It is always great fun watching it.

More than a nipple, this

Genesis 19:30-38 (King James Version)

30 And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

31 And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth:

32 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

33 And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

34 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.

35 And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

37 And the first born bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

38 And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day.

It inspired the Dutchman Hendrick Goltzius (1588-1617) (and others):

And also Jan Harmensz. Muller (1571-1628, Amsterdam)

A beautiful engraving  of Lot (puritanissimo to the extreme) by Lucas van Leyden:

Lucas van Leyden (ca. 1490-1533): "Lot and his daughters" (ca. 1509), very impressive and difficult to read for us in these times.

By Jan Massys, (b. ca. 1510, Antwerpen, d. 1575, Antwerpen)

By Joachim Anthonisz Wtewael (also spelled Uytewael) (1566, Utrecht - August 1, 1638, Utrecht):

By Orazio Gentileschi, Italian painter (b. 1563, Pisa, d. 1639, London:

Lot and his Daughters by Albrecht Dürer:

Things won't change that much here.  This was more of a ruling concerning live programming and the use of foul language.  The regular over the air programming will not change between the hours of 6am and 10pm.
