Is it always yellow and red wire that has to be connected, or is it just in the movies?

If this is what you mean ????

Acc. to a wikipedia article "The specific method of hot-wiring a vehicle is dependent on the particular vehicle's electrical ignition system. Remote start units access the same wires as conventional ignition methods. Listings of wire colors and locations and ignition system schematics may sometimes be found in Internet databases."

Just watching all seasons of 24, and Jack Bauer is always connecting red and yellow whenever he's hotwiring a car     So I just had to make sure the producers got it right

Not to forget that it's always the blue wire if you have to disarm a bomb .... if I was the bomber I'd know what I'd have to do with the blue wire.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
