Should we add the DVD's Disc ID to the main Blu-ray profile for Combo releases, or should the DVD's Disc ID belong "exclusively" in it's seperate child profile. Currently the rules (bold is me) state this: Quote:
Sets containing the same film on multiple media types (such as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack) are to be entered as a normal profile for the main media type (Blu-ray in this example), with all included media types checked. A combo which includes HD media (HD-DVD, Blu-ray) as well as DVD should use the details from the HD media in the main profile. However, you may add an additional profile by Disc ID for the DVD content and add this profile to the Box Set contents for the Blu-ray profile. But I do see a lot of people adding the seperate DVD's Disc ID in the main profile also, so I'd like to hear some opinions on the above rule. | | | | Corey |

| | Posted: | | | | The bolded phrase indicates the child profile is optional so i would definitely add the DVD Disc ID to the main profile. Given that it is not mandatory to create a child you need to add it to the "main" profile. Quote:

The Bonus DVD is also added as a child to the main profile this allows those who want it and those that don't to either remove it or simply just don't download it with the main profile. I have yet to actually see a flipper disc with a "Blu-ray" on one side and a "DVD" on the other side. You're going to see them more, but mainly from Universal. Thus far Traffic, Out of Africa and The Jackal are flipper discs and The Ghost Writer will be as well. |
