This isn't about a contribution, so I didn't put this question there...sorry if this is the wrong place for it.

I bought a used copy of Dreamer (upc 678149197223), which is labeled full frame.  (Yeah, I know, but it's a kid's movie and it was all of a buck at a garage sale for something I hadn't watched).  However, watching it, it looks like it is in WS, bars and all.

Does anyone else have the full frame edition? Does yours have the bars or did I get lucky and get one that was a mistake and is WS?

BTW, this is a really cute movie. I was pleasantly surprised! Worth the buck either way.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I ran into a similar situation several years ago but it was the other way around.  I purchased a used DVD from Blockbuster which the case indicated was anamorphic widescreen.  When I attempted to enter it in Profiler it showed up as P&S.  It was a DVD which was likely to appeal to children.

When I returned it I was told their policy was that when it came time to reduce the inventory of a title, they would try to sell the ones with the most use first and it was likely that there was a mix up during the clearance process.  I was given another one which was correct.

It seems that children somehow felt cheated unless the picture filled the frame so they most often had both the P&S and anamorphic versions of children's titles.

Both versions of "Dreamer" are in the Profiler database.  If you attempted to enter it into Profiler by simply inserting it into your computer's drive and it was misidentified that would require further investigation.  Please let us know.

Jim
