Weekend Movie Marathon: On-Demand
Every so often I like to go through the On-Demand channels in search of movies that I may want to add to my DVD collection. This is what I decided to do for this weekend's marathon.

Among many others... Here is a list of possible movies I could watch that look interesting to me...

- 17 again
- Angels & Demons
- Baby Mama
- Beverly Hills Chihuahua
- G-Force
- The Hangover
- The Happening
- Home Fries
- Nim's Island
- Observe and Report
- Quarantine
- Semi-Pro
- Speed Racer
- The Taking of Pelham 123
- Terminator Salvation
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
- Up
- Wanted

So any in the above list that you would recommend?

The two above I am really looking forward to seeing is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Terminator Salvation.

I have not seen The Hangover, Observe and Report, Quarantine, Semi-Pro or Speed Racer yet myself. Based on your other posts and collection, you seem to like just about anything. 17 Again, G-Force and Beverly Hills Chihuahua might be a little farther down on the list for me, but any of the rest would definitely be on my suggestion list.

Up was really, really good.  Have a tissue handy.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua is better than the preview of it suggests.  G-Force was quite cute.

I enjoyed Angels and Demons and the reveal surprised me, but my friend that I saw it with had it figured out.

The Happening: Don't!!!!!!! I know you have better things to do than watching this movie - life is simply too short for it.
Wanted: Greatly recommended!
Terminator Salvation: Is a solid action movie but way beyond parts 1 and 2.
Have fun

- G-Force - Didn't like this one much and that's saying something because I enjoyed Cats and Dogs.

- The Hangover - It is very very funny, but not 'the funniest movie ever' IMO. I still highly recommend it though.

- Observe and Report - Worth a watch.

- Semi-Pro - Meh. Has funny parts but I think it shows that Will Ferrell hasn't got the screen prescence to be the lead. Average.

- Terminator Salvation - Better than 3, nowhere near as good as 1 or 2 but still a lot of fun.

- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Meh. I hated the twin autobots and the silly 'I love you' routine but not as bad as others may have you believe.

- Wanted - A lot of fun IMO. I was surprised by this.

Wanted is a great amount of fun. I've been very impressed of what I've seen by Timur Bekmambetov (discovered by Roger Corman FTW!) so far.

I added G-Force to maybe watch with my daughter before she leaves for her weekend tomorrow (spending weekend with grandparents). I will have to see if she wants to watch it this evening.

BTW... Terminator Salvation... take over where part 3 left off? or ignores that it ever happened?

Up.

Worth watching twice, in fact.

As good as Disney/Pixar trailers are, this film exceeded the previews by more than any other film I can recall seeing.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
The battle for Earth continues in this action-packed blockbuster from director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg. When college-bound Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers, he must accept his destiny and join Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in their epic battle against the Decepticons, who have returned stronger than ever with a plan to destroy our world.

My Thoughts:
Well... part of me loved it. And part of me was a little on the disappointed side, I loved all the action and battle scenes. And there was definitely plenty of them!  But... for me at least... it went a little downhill compared to the first one. Besides the action.... the first one had me literally laughing out loud on some of the scenes. But this one... even though they seemed to try to put a few laughs in it... it just didn't work for me. I didn't have a single laugh in this movie! Megan Fox was definitely still drool worthy.. and I did like the storyline of Sam trying to get on with his life and go to college. The length of the movie was a bit much as well. But over-all I still enjoyed it and do plan on adding it to my collection eventually. But I will wait for a decent price. Will probably wait till I can get it for $10 or under. I think if you really enjoyed the first one... you will want to check this one out as well.

My Rating: 3.5/5

With Brittany going away this weekend I think I picked too many movies that I wanted to watch with her. I will have to see what she wants to watch with me this evening. I imagine it will be between...

- Beverly Hills Chihuahua
- G-Force
- Up

Without seeing the other two: Take Up. I think it will bring you the most fun and entertainment. Imho til' now the best Pixar movie.

But if she likes Hamster, G-Force could be her choice.

Concerning "The Taking of Pelham 123":

I'd rather recommend the original 1974 movie "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three"

just my 2 cents

My opinion to "The Happening" is different.  I have to say I liked it very much. Ok, it had some bad parts, but it was very entertaining.

From the movies I've seen from your list, I would say Semi-Pro is the worst. Would be my last choice in this list.

Yes, please watch the movie and tell me if it's really a "must have". So far I don't own it!
