Before I make a vote, need guidance.

The existing credit is:

Canadian Film Development

and is being changed to:

Canadian Film Development Company

Is this change correct?

I'm not a 100% on this, but isn't "Company" a company suffix like "Limited" or "Plc"?

In which case, the change is wrong.

"Company" isn't always a suffix

For example, Australian Film Finance Corporation is always Australian Film Finance Corporation.  I've never seen the name used without the fully spelled out Corporation.  See also here where it shows some suffixes beyond Corporation.

This doesn't answer the OP's question about Canadian Film Development Company but the point is you can't assume.

How is it used in the credits?

Canadian Film Development sounds a little goofy by itself.  That's just an opinion on my part though and i wouldn't make a decision based on it.  However, if they always use Company in their credits, fully spelled out, i'd tend to include it.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

I agree with Tweeter, if Company is part of the name, it has to be entered.  In addition, I don't believe 'company' is a company suffix.  A company suffix describes the type of company...Corporation, Limited Liability Company, etc.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

And also, most I see abbreviated  Co, Corp. (Not very often), LLC, LTD or any of the multitudes more from various other countries.

Not to say for sure, but I would be inclined to use it.

From what I found (links below) it looks like the right name of this company is Canadian Film Development Corporation (CFDC), of which the 'Corporation' would be a company suffix. CFDC was renamed to Telefilm Canada in 1984.
