Most of my exsperiances have been good but there have been a number of time when I have been sent wrong editions and on three ocassions I was not sent the an item and was refunded, only for it to reappear  a few days later at an greatly increased price (Land Of The Lost Season 1, when it was rare).

It's hit or miss with all vendors. I've struck gold and got great deals from Amazon sellers, I've also had the wrong movie sent to me once and wrong editions a couple times, but all worked out in the end and I was fully refunded so I only lost a bit of time on them. All in all, I'm a fan and always check there when shopping.

The really good vendors will let you keep the wrong editions.  I got a free movie from someone once; "Lola".

Similar thing with wrong editions. Either they refund me the money and tell me to keep the DVD or send me the right edition and tell me to keep the wrong edition DVD. Other than that, my experiences with Amazon vendors have been good. I always look at their feedback and pay particular attention to the poor ratings, and even then, make sure the rating was reasonable and not a mistake on the buyer's part.

I've never encountered a bad seller on Amazon Marketplace, yet. Of course I usually avoid those with sketchy feedback however. A package went missing in the mail not long ago, but the seller promptly sent out another.

Half.com on the other hand...I had problems with all the time. Several times I was sent the incorrect item, or the seller waited forever to actually ship something out.

I've had a bad experience once (and in my first try no less). The seller posted the Best Buy exclusive SteelBook of Tales of the Black Freighter for sale. Eventually I received the standard BD edition instead. Because I live in Israel (I used usonestop service to ship it to me) he initially refused to give a refund, but after complaining to Amazon, I received my money back very quickly.

The second try was a total success. The seller was very kind and promised to ship the correct edition (which he did).

My advice is simple: ask the seller before you buy.

Th good thing about the marketplace is that amazon always backs up its customers from fradulent vendors.

I've had only one problem with a vendor many years ago, who did not deliver and did not respond to emails. Amazon refunded the amount without any problems.

Today I have only problems with some mailmen who do not deliver or give a notice...

I sell my DVDs on Amazon that I no longer want and they have very strict rules when it comes to listing and shipping out in a timely manner.  If you ever have an issue with Amazon Market place just contact Amazon's customer service. Amazon takes care of their customers unlike Ebay.

I always do this, but still 2 sellers either lied or had wrong info to me.
First was Jack Frost, the low-budget horror flick. I ordered this and got sent the Michael Keaton kiddie film of the same name. So I send it back, ask the next seller which movie he has, assured it's the horror, and get another Keaton!

Second was Sheena. I asked if it had the widescreen side or just the fullscreen only. Assured it has both, get FS only. All sellers had this so I went to ebay and found a seller who didn't lie (and somehow saved a few bucks!)

Asking helps, but I think your first answers will be from auto-pilot so asking twice might be recomended.
