In Personalize DVD, fill in Collection Number.

There's a button for Personalize DVD, and its under DVD in the Menu.

And to assign numbers to your whole collection (or only single categories, depending on your custom categories settings) you can use "Reassign Collection Numbers..." from the "Collection" menu.

I am still having problems with this as every time i try and enter my own number it tells me that number is already taken by another dvd. Is there no way of clearing all existing collection numbers ? I would also need to stop the dvd profiler generating a collection number every time I add a dvd.

BulkEdit has this function.

CTRL+P -> check "None". You need to do this one profile at the time. I am unsertain if BulkEdit has access to the "None" field.

I tried bulk edit which was a disaster. I found it very difficult to use, and it says it is mainly sutiable for smaller collections of around 200. There was no way of clearing the numbers in one go so had to go through deleting one by one and after all that it didn't seem to work anyway.

I seem to remember an add on that allowed you to create your own fields but can't find it anywhere. Do you know if it is stull available?

Sorry you had that experience. "Clear All" for collection numbers seems like a good new function.

But you could have simulated it by simply using "column copy" of any blank column into collection number. Multi-cell copy also works: Click a blank cell in the "from" column, and click  a set of "to" cells in one or more other columns. That's what I would have suggested if given the chance.  I just tried them, and both methods worked for me.

Regarding the 200 suggested limit, I did that in order to prevent people from starting a long unstoppable process on thousands of profiles. There is no real limit, just a suggested one for practicality. I figured that even at 200 (or so) per clip, most of the time, it would be preferred over one by one. You can actually pick any number you are comfortable with, given the speed of your PC.

The updates I am working on will make BulkEdit faster, possibly include a "stop" button, and I have also had a "field zap" on the drawing boards - it would blast any legitimate value into the selected fields. It would be: Collection\Flagged\Field Zap, then select the field, enter the value (or select from dropdown), then "Go".
Thanks for your support.
