As far as Christie, unless there is a credit for it, I would say no... |

| Posted: | | | | If there's no actual credit in the credits I say no. The rules say the same thing: Quote: Take Crew Credits from the film credits only | | | Cor |

| Posted: | | | | Hence the problem with eliminating possessive's just because some user's don't like it. This is also true for Kenneth Brannagh's version of Hamlet, William Shakespeare is ONLY credited as a possessive. Under the Rules and following credits the answer is NO, personally speaking i would restore the use of possessives, if they appear on the front cover. As I explained sometimne ago, I do this locally and I use AH's The Birds, but Iuse Birds, The as my sort title and guess where the title appears....under the B's. Possessives are legitimate data markers and should be used when applicable. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Skip Please explain to me exactly what Agatha Christie's relationship is to this film if it is not based on her book "Ten Little Indian's"? The clear inference is: "Based on Agatha Christie's book: Ten Little Indians" Otherwise, it makes no sense. | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | It's a possessive, hal, you like this one for your purposes but you don't like them generally. The Rule for possessives is clear IF she is included WITHIN the quotes then use it, if not then don't. I didn't like it years ago and like it even less today, I think we should simply apply possessives if the appear on the cover. The Rules don't allow for personal definitions, you are free to call it OMB locally, just as I am free to use possessives locally (and do), but beyond that NO. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! | Posted: | | | | Why are you quoting the Title rule on a question for crew? Edit: had no idea I had my window open for two minutes before I clicked submit. | | | Last edited: by lyonsden5 |

| Posted: | | | | Evein if it were in quotes, it wouldn't fit the rules, since "Ten Little Indians" is not the title, "Goldfinger" is. But the reference to OMB is clear, maybe something can be found in the film credits as well. | | | Hans |

"Ten Little Indians" is the title of the film; the name of the book was "And Then There Were None" (changed from original less than PC title). | | | Hal | | | Last edited: by hal9g |

| Posted: | | | | I would agree that the current rules don't allow for this to be included as a credit. However, I think it's worth considering a change that would allow a title possessive to translate into an OMB credit.
The question I would have is how often these possessives are indicating some other relationship that wouldn't classically go under OMB. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |
