This post is primarily directed towards those in North America, but maybe my experience would hold true elsewhere too...

With so many Blu-ray titles being region free and with region modded Blu-ray players readily available, I thought it a good idea to alert everyone to the great deals that can be had from amazon.co.uk.

I just received my latest order from them:

$9.51 for Apocalypto
$6.87 for Beowulf & Grendel
$23.43 for The Matrix trilogy
$13.75 for Zulu (not even out in North America)

+ $10.50 in shipping for a total of $64.06 or $10.68 per movie.

And I just placed another order for Moon, which came out to $17.56 with shipping. Not quite as great of a deal, but Amazon.com has it for $24.49 plus shipping, and Amazon.ca even more, so still some decent savings.

Then there's the $22.09, with shipping, I paid for Harry Brown. A movie that doesn't even open in North America until April 30th. Price-wise not too impressive, but the novelty of seeing it so early was worth a few bucks to me.

Note: The prices you see on the site are including tax, but that's removed during checkout if you're shipping to a non-EU address. Moon, for example, is listed at $15.16 but I'm only charged $12.89.

Note #2: Two good resources to determine if a disc is region free or not are blurayregioncodes.com and the reviews at blu-ray.com.

Note #3: Xe.com is a good place to check the exchange rate of the day.

dee1959jay is correct, it's not region free. I've got a modded BDP-83 so it doesn't matter to me, but for those that do not the sites listed under #2 above are usually very accurate in reporting what is and isn't region free.
