Hello,

Today I added several dvd's in my collection and wanted to make a backup.  It was quite a while ago.
But it didn't work.  I tried several times and every time at the same point (when it's almost finished), backing up the covers, the program blocks and I can't do anything more.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance.

Greetings,
  FILIP

So is the program freezing or giving an error message or what?

Always a good idea.

Enough free memory on the disc you save your backup?

are you backing up to a different directory of folder on a separate drive??

Hi guys, thanks for your reactions.
First of all, I get no message at all, the program just freezes, each time at the same point.
I did a database repair, with the same result.
Memory is no problem at all.  I save my backup on an external drive of 2Tb and for years I use always the same filename in the same folder.  Never had a problem until now.

It seems that what Nick says (corrupted image), that could be the problem.  How can I solve this?
Refreshing the images, how does that work.  My collection is rather very big, and a lot of images were
made by myself.  I don't wanna loose them.

Image refresh would work, but as you found out yourself would overwrite your local scans.

To rule out which file is corrupted you could use the half-method.
Do a partial backup of the first half of your collection. If this passes without failure continue with the second half.
The half that has the error now gets the procedure from the beginning. Always continuing with the failing "half".

Depending on the size of your collection this may take a while (13 steps with a collection size of 4096)

Oh and BTW as a backup-backup you could always use the online collection, which would at least save your profiles and your personal settings of them (sadly not the images!)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

It's a very strange situation.
I've now made the backup on the internal C-drive, and it's ok, but if I keep trying on the external, it keeps freezing always at the same place ....

Might be OK, but doesn't have to.
To be sure copy your database folder completely to a different directory (Copy NOT Move)
After this try to restore your backup file, if everything works fine you might want to delete the just copied folder.
If it doesn't, restore your database by copying the folder back to it's original place and come up again.
