There is a Contribution changing type to bold face based upon colors, we DO NOT do colors. The tpeface involved is no bolder than the rest of the Overview. Check this stuff vote, so it doesn't have to be correc ted later.PLEASE. I don;'t like having to do this.

I always vote 'no' for these.  Unfortunately, the vote sits at 9 - 2 in favor of the change.

It's another gray area. I usually lean towards a yes vote. Maybe it's not Bold per say. However, It does differ from the rest of the text.
Another thing that makes it even more confusing is the rest of what the rule says: "...as needed to match the case."

A totally unbolded text will not match the back overview either.
That is why I believe these so called "corrections" are OK in my book.

Anyway, It's another issue Ken must address someday.

Why would you think that voting here would be any different than a governmental election.
As soon as you have voting you have an opinion pole.

Nothing gray about it.

IF you are going to try and argue it's gray because it's not in the Rules. (1)We also don't have color choices in the Program do we and (2) if that theory holds water then we can enter and Contribute all sorts of data, including Caterers, accountants, Gaffers, best boys, etc. they aren't in the rules either yet we DON'T list them, because the Rules domn't tell us we can.

BTW I have tried PMing the user, he has read and is ignoring it, because people did not actually check and voted yes. To the user, if you do not withdraw it and it gets approved, it will be fixed immediately.

I actually don't understand how that makes it confusing at all.  Here is the complete rule:

"Use the Bold and/or Italic features for any words in the overview that are bold and/or italic as needed to match the case."

Seems fairly clear to me...use bold and/or italic for words that are bold and/or italic.  I don't see how that can be interpreted to mean, "for any text that is different."

Does a different font color equal bold?

Thanks.  I was pretty sure this had come up before, but couldn't remember where.

In my opinion, the purpose of the color difference is the same as is with bold, to highlight a specific word/sentence. So i would vote yes for adding the bold and neutral if someone removed it.

Agree with both liorb22 and whispering. It differentiates from the rest of the text for  a reason.

And therein lies the problem, the Rules explicitly define Bold and Italics, and COLOR is NOT one of the characteristics. Nor do I ever want to see us try and do color, I can just see people arguing over shading, no thanks.

Except for one small problem, Alien. It's not the Rules, that is voting from your preference not the Rules, what you want to do locally is your business but it's NOT for the Online.. The Rules do not say to consider color text as bold or italic. This is the same as what I said earlier, your argument would allow ANY Crew data that is not defined in the Rules because it is not in the Rules, you want to Contribute Gaffers and so forth, your argument says you can because they are not in the Rules. Color was excluded from the Rules and from the program itself.

Voting inconsistently with the rules is as bad as Contributing inconsistent with the Rules.
