Thanks to PBS's Mystery Series I've become a fan of UK mysteries and track their DVD availability.
In fact I'm presently drinking coffee from one of my many PBS Mystery coffee mugs.

As such I've noticed that Amazon and Deep Discount are offering pre-orders for some of these clear out to October. Amazon does this quite often, True Blood: Season Two for example, I pre-ordered that last August and it is finally coming out in May.

But this is something new for Deep Discount. Are these two having a little war on Acorn Media DVDs. DVDs that are not as yet  in their web site catalog?

Has anybody else noticed an increase in the number of pre-order available in the DVDs you track,
especially those from European studios?

Or is it in anticipation of our failing economy that they want to know how many to order at the current price I have seen an increase in the price of some of these DVDs. For awhile Amazon was only offering s 10% discount on some on some these, hardky enough for me to bite. But now that Deep discount is in the game they are doing better, DD is beating them by a buck or two.

Speaking of Deep Discount, after their new web page came on line all of a sudden I had over a hundred or more items in my wish list. Items I had bought years ago and items I could not remember ever looking at. I called and ask them to empty it, since now you can only delete one at a time. They did nothing, finally after severak days I got it emptied.
