| Posted: | | | | Someone just submitted a contribution for this title as Title: 4 Film Favorites Edition: Thriller Collection This seems very wrong to me. While I can understand it from looking just at this title alone, there are actually 40+ releases named 4 Film Favorites with different themes; 4 Film Favorites: Batman Collection, 4 Film Favorites: John Wayne etc If anything, 4 Film Favorites should be the edition. But that doesn't seem quite right either. My feeling is that the entire thing should be in the title, i e 4 Film Favorites: Thriller CollectionThoughts? Edit: Just to clarify, the above contribution was just released. It's a new contribution, so it was never up for voting. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. I do recall this coming up before but it's been a couple of years. |

I have 3 of these and this is how I've listed them as well, although mine don't have the word "collection" on the cover, "4 Film Favorites: Thriller". | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | If there are, indeed, 40+ titles in the series, and the only thing that changes is the 'collection' name, then it sounds like an episodic series so, yea, all in the title field. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Title: Gothika / Queen of the Damned / Dreamcatcher / Ghost Ship Edition: 4 Film Favorites: Thriller Collection Same. To me the titles of the films are more important than any extra wording. | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

Since when do we enter the titles of the movies included in a box set as the title of the box set Following that logic, what would you enter as the title for this one? |

| Posted: | | | | I can't speak how others see it... but at least in my eyes... the example in the OP has a title for the DVD release. (4 Film Favorites: Thriller Collection) the one you posted does not so we would use Balls of Fury/Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story/Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (as space allows). | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I have no idea but without anything else on the box I suppose I would do what you suggest. This isn't the same thing though, you are comparing apples to oranges IMO. What you show has no other title on it. What the OP showed is part of a 40+ collection of box sets. Hardly the same. |

| Posted: | | | | I think it is the same. The rule for box set titles says "The title for a Box Set should be the title listed on the front cover, for example Alien Quadrilogy". In the OP the titles are on the front cover. IMHO to not include them is wrong. |

IMHO to not include them is wrong. I guess it depends on how you read the rule and the cover. The rule does, indeed, say, "The title for a Box Set should be the title listed on the front cover..." Well, in my opinion, the title listed on the front cover, the title for this Box Set, is '4 Film Favorites: Thriller Collection." While 'Gothika', 'Queen of the Damned', 'Dreamcatcher' and 'Ghost Ship' are titles, they are not the title of the Box Set. They are the titles of the contents. Your example, on the other hand, does not have an individaul Box Set title. Since it doesn't, we have to use what it does have...the titles of each film. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | That's another reason why I don't like how the generic you wants to do it. In case A you want to do it one way, in case B you want to do it another way.
To me putting "4 Film Favorites: Thriller Collection" in the title is no different to putting "The Criterion Collection" there in a similar situation. |
