I would think this was already answered, but couldn't find it.

I'm about to aquire a box set containing several DVD's. I already own a couple of them as separate editions, and would like to keep these as well. The problem as I see it is that one can't have two of the same disc in the collection. I'm quite sure that the box set contains the exact same UPC's.

Is my only solution to add my already owned discs as part of the box set?

I must stress again how much I would like to keep both editions, the issue being that the new discs has new covers made for the new box. It will not look as pretty if I mix the old discs with the rest.

Hope this was clear.

You can try adding the new profiles by inserting the Disc into your computer and adding it by the Disc ID.  However, if it's like the Stargate SG-1 series where the same discs released in the individual seasons was also released with the All Season edition, there's really nothing you can do that's an ideal situation.

The only option I can think of is to change the UPC of your current version to a manual profile (type "M" into the new UPC field) and then re-add the profile under the other boxset.  The drawback here is that the manual profile won't be updated when the real profile is.

OK, thanks! Although not ideal, at least it can be done.
