Auditing Terminator Salvation and as i enter Helena there are two choises in my base.
Helena/Bonham/Carter and Helena/Bonham Carter.  What's the correct parsing here? I have 8 titles with H/B/C and 3 with H/BC. As a drummer I know of John Bonham from Led Zeppelin, and Bonham is his last name, and therefore I believe that Helena has two last names Bonham Carter, and the parsing will be H/BC. is this correct?

In the Credit Lookup Tool, you will find most with H//BC. Difficult to count exactly with 176 titles and 912 profiles.

I believe that it has been decided that the correct way to enter this is Helena // Bonham Carter

(not related to the late John Bonham of the greatest rock-band ever!  )

I went for Helena // Bonham Carter as I originally thought would be correct Thanks guys..
However, I have to change 8 profiles with the wrong parsing though...

I accidently picked the wrong one when I audited the same title.  Rick was kind enough to send me a PM letting me know...I have since removed 'H/B/C' from my database.

I've removed the incorrect one from my database also and submitted corrections to the three that contained it.

Was probably me since I would prefer HBC in one field and parsing killed for good.

Skip (and others) believed that H/B/C was appropriate until I found a few peerage sites where her family name is listed as "Bonham Carter" for a quite a number of generations. And thus I think only those who missed those links I provided stick with the incorrect usage.

"Helena//Bonham Carter" is right.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

"Helena//Bonham Carter" is right.

Your previous post (or maybe it was the chart) says that she, like many, dropped the hyphen.  I wonder if that's because the hyphen traditionally signified an "out of wedlock" ancestry (i.e. a child, usually male, born to a mother named Bonham and father named Carter?  I wonder if people didn't want the "bastardy" identified for all to see, especially after many generations.

Actually, that makes sense. And why (once the hyphen has been dropped) would anyone want it back?

I am not sure why this is even an issue. This was resolved for HBC long ago. And for the record it was I who documented the data resolving it, by finding three movies which "consecutively" filmed, or at least different years. With, in this order HB-C, HBC and H/B-C, wjile it is possible that she could have changed her name to HBC and even moved the B to middle name status, it is hifghly unlikely that she would she would change her parsing back and forth therefore the HBC was H//BC., thus it HAS been and rthus it shall be unless something comes up to change it in the way of documentation.
