This is not meant to be a definitive list! I'm sure I've missed some obvious choices. I just thought it would be a bit of fun.

Then visit the other thread to vote on the same songs as WORST movie song!

"Take My Break Away"?

Ah, I remember that... a heartfelt song by Maverick (Tom Cruise) to his boss, who wanted him to have lunch hour instead of dutifully flying around. Classic song.

Seriously though, I voted for "Moon River". Another favourite of mine is Chaplin's "Smile".

Any song with three bass guitars gets my vote:

The YouTube submitter added an "s" to the song title, but who cares?

"How could I leave this behind?"
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Mine as well. Endlessly quotable song too! *hums "The looser the wasteband, the deeper the quicksand"*

But my absolute favorite movie song is Tiny Dancer by Elton John, in Almost Famous. Brings a tear to my eye every single time.

+1

This was the first DVD I bought.  Just a week before I bought a DVD player.

Then again, there's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from Monty Python's Life of Brian

Wow, someone is feeling sappy.  I can think of 5 or 6 really great ones, but I am in a Star Wars mood so I'll go with Duel of the Fates - Episode 1 The Phantom Menace
