Is Wardrobe Mistress in UK movies a functional equivalent of Wardrobe Supervisor? This is the only Costume credit present in the movie. (Brides of Dracula)

I will defer to our friends from across the pond if they disagree, but I think you have this one right.  'Direct Translation'.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I've not come across it at all. However, the Wikipedia article would suggest that they're the same role but Supervisor is the more common term in modern times.

I've come across it at a contribution.

The addition had been accepted, the removal not. If this means anything.

According to this job description, Wardrobe Supervisor and Wardrobe Mistress would not be the same.

I also saw someone adding "Wardrobe Mistress" in a recent contribution. There was already a Costume Designer in the profile, but it was approved.

I agree with you though, I don't think they're quite the same job.

Thanks to everyone.

I don't think I would add it if there were other costume credits, but since it's the only credit available  in some of the Hammer films, I'll add it in those profiles.
