Hey there,

should probably have asked before I submitted the new profile of:

PAYBACK - UK Blu-RAY,

but sometimes the fingers are quicker than the mind

The Blu-ray has the theatrical cut AND the director's cut on ONE Blu-ray,
Usually the director's cut is always the longer running version, but this time it is the theatrical cut who runs about 11 minutes longer.

I submitted the running time of the longer theatrical version.
Is this correct ? I wasn't 100 % sure.

cheers
Donnie

Indeed you have done it correctly. The running time is of the longest version as long as it's not an easter egg.

Wow. This is the first time I've ever heard of a director's cut actually being shorter then the theatrical cut. And by 11 minutes!

You've never seen David Lynch's "Dune". The extended cut is close to 3 hours while the standard cut is around 2 hours 20. The standard is considered to be the Director's Cut because he had his name removed from the extended cut & it's given to the fictitious Alan Smithee.

I wish the US version did this, then I could have gotten rid of my dvd copy.

for those that haven't seen it, they are like 2 different movies. It's not just a case of adding a few scenes here and there or using a different version of a scene or two. The movie's tone (and even aspects of the plot) is different

Actually the 2003 Director's Cut of Alien is 110 minutes, while the Theatrical version is 116 minutes..

For "Blade Runner", Scott cut all the happy end for his director's cut, making it shorter than the theatrical release...

Thanks DarklyNoon for this profile. I ordered this from Amazon UK the other day as I sold my old UK DVD for this back in the day and lamented the US Blu version only having the Directors cut. In the age of Blu there really is no excuse for not including the original cut.

Thanks again!
