OK,
I currently own :
UPC:733961145540, Released 11/18/2008 - Title: The Complete Monty Python's Flying Circus:Collectors Edition
The latest updates to the database change and over write most of my current information.

Is this "new" set considered a re-release, and therefore, the original info is to be maintained?
Or is the set I have a re-release??????

Is there a way, as the disk ID's are the same to have two seperate entries?  One with the disks in a box and digipak (?), the other in keep cases?

Insight appreciated.

This sounds like a re-packaging, something that isn't uncommon in the world of 'Complete' sets.

Often times, distributors will take the same exact disc and package it multiple ways over a period of time...

Complete First Season
Complete Series
Complete Series Special Edition
Complete Series Collectors Edition
Best of Collection

While it sucks, unless each disc has it's own UPC, we are stuck with the original release profile for the disc.  Whether or not you have the original release, I can't say, but it does make a difference.

What update are you talking about? The latest update to the UPC was February 3 of this year.

Happened to me once. I bought a DVD some time back, but then someone else updated the image with another release of the same EAN. I just PM'ed the other user asking when he'd bought it and what year it said on the cover. I seemed he'd bought his earlier than me. But this I think is the best way to solve these kind of issues.

I am guessing he is talking about updates to the child profiles.

I Love Lucy: The Complete Series is a good example, they did not re=press the discs, they took what they had leftover from the Original releases and repackaged them into ONE gigantice set, they even threw out the original packaging. So I have  all of the data that is relevant to what I have locally, including Cover scans of trhe Parent, since the original packaging was tfrown out by the distributor. The Online Cover Art is interesting, historically speaking and I can view it when i wish, but relative to what I own it is not relevant.

The Complete Monty Python's Flying Circus:Collectors Edition
I Created Child Profiles for all 20 of the 21 disc in this Set, I bought the set about a month after it came out so I doubt it is a re-release. the one child profile in question was incomplete and didn't even have a cover scan. But all info came from the disc, film credits and Case's, I say case's since the set is a Box with lid and two digipak books inside. One containing 14 disc of The Complete series and the other 7 disc containing the rest of python stuff, like the personal best and live concert. Not sure yet what the complaining is about other than his info must be different.

OK, then why are there cover scans?
There are no individually packaged disks, no keep cases, overviews,  etc

Cover Scans are of the Digipak that they come in. There are two Digipaks in this set that are within the main box. I think you may have the version that came out in 2000, that is only the Series, that one is the only one with keep cases unless you got a bootleg
