| | Posted: | | | | The database only knows about one UPC for "Fay Grim", which I own, but just today I got a new UPC for the same title:
065935806943
It's still shrink wrapped so I'm not going to open it because I'd like to trade it for something else.
Everything appears to be the same form the outside except that the back cover art has the right hand descriptive repeated in French in addition to English. They make room for this by shrinking the picture nearest the barcode.
The DVD has a symbol (world with a "1" in it) that I take to mean region one, but I can't find any reference to NTSC versus PAL.
I'm guessing they did this version up for marketing in Canada, because everything else, including bonus features, appears to be the same. |

But: IMDB didn't know the UPC either, and Amazon only knows one version apparently, so I guess I can forgive myself some day ... |

| | Posted: | | | | I've seen R2 NTSC discs (from Japan) and region free PAL and NTSC, but I can't recall ever seeing R1 PAL. It shouldn't ever happen as R1 is strictly NTSC. All our TV's are NTSC, and all players are default set to that. Many players can be cracked to play PAL, some US players will play PAL right out of the box, but making a R1 PAL disc wouldn't make any sense as it could only be marketed to those region free. Since joesixpack doesn't know squat about regions, much less TV display systems, I just can't see it happening. There's nothing to gain from doing this except confusion. Of course there usually is an exception to every rule, so I'm not gonna say it's imposssible, I just don't see why such a disc would exist. Please share any you can find so we can all laugh and wonder.  |

| | Posted: | | | | I have one "Music" DVD/CD Set that has a PAL disc and it lists "Region 1" on the back cover, but the disc is actually coded for All Regions. That's the closest example I've ever seen though. It's not too unusual however, as many Music DVD's often are incorrect about their technical specs on the covers. | | | | Corey |
