Bold? Or just a larger font?

My question deals with the movie titles in the overview. Are they bold? Or do they just look bolder than the descriptions below them because they are larger?

If you feel they are bold then do you think the entire overview above the movie listings is also bold?

One other question. Each title has the date followed by a colon. Should this colon be included as part of the overview?

Thanks!

If an entire overview is bold, we don't use bold.

Looks Bold to me Rick... and I would say yes to the colon since the rules do say EXACTLY.

It isn't look underneath "Volume Three" where it lists the overviews for each movie.

I'd take it as bold as well (and I'd include the colon)

I was just referrring to the question about the "entire"  overview above the movie (I suppose episode) listings.

About two hours in and it's 8-7.

For those voting YES, it's bold, do you also think the top part of the overview is bold as well? It is clearly just as bold as the titles, bolder actually.

Well, I made it 8-8 as I think it is just an illusion caused by the larger font...each different font size looks bolder than the smaller ones...and, yes, include the colon.

I'm in the not bold camp for this.

I've seen several contributions that have been like this & so far every one has gone through.

I see no reason to change anything it looks like it is open to interpretation (opinion). The user interpreted the data as boldface, I suspect the user was offended by the tone of Rick's No vote in which he tried to establish himself as the arbiter of fonts and made what amounted to FACTUAL comment. Now to be fair to Rick, I also suspect he was limited in spce to explain in detail, in which case the proper approach would be to PM the user.

If I were voting on this contribution, where someone is adding 'bold' to the overview, I would have voted 'no' with a comment similar to the one I posted above.  I would not, and usually don't, PM the contributor.

I will, and have, bring it to the forum if I feel strongly enough about the issue.  My reasoning is, I already know what the contributor thinks.  I, obviously, know what I think.  I want to know what the forum thinks.  If I am alone, I will change my vote.  If not, then I let my vote stand.  But that's just me.

Would I make a contribution removing bold formatting?  That depends on my mood.

heh - here is the comment where I am "establishing my self as the arbitrater of fonts"

Quote:
lyonsden5 : It's not bold, it's just larger font. If what you have is considered bold then the whole overview part should be bold as well.

Hadn't quite thought of it that way, even though I have done the same for some time now. Well stated.

I have on occassion sent a PM to users about contributions. Generally it's if the contribution is an isolated issue that only relates to this specific profile. If it's a more generic "problem" I prefer to ask the Community for their views.

Just to clarify. I don't have this title... so I can only go by the cover scan provided. So that doesn't help any. I imagine it would be easier to tell on the actual case if it is actually bold or larger font. But I will say going by the scan and my 40 year old eyes It don't look too much larger then the other font... just thicker... but to be completely honest... my opinion could be different if I had the case in front of me to look at.

And Rick... looking at your example I would say that none of them are bold just increased in size.
