There is a profile update for Independence Day (Blu - UPC: 024543444237) that wants to add the THX and Featurette Feature selections.  I am voting No because there are no Featurettes but am wondering about the THX as well.

There is nothing on the physical disc itself (no logo, none of the cute little commercials) and i had to look hard to find this logo (needed a magnifying glass) on the back cover.

So the question is...

Is THX Digitally Mastered equivalent to THX Certified (as defined in the Rules)?  I tried the THX website but didn't get anything from that.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

THX is THX. Luxas will certify almost anything, we don't have a way to define the certification, nor do i think it would be particularly useful to do so.

tHE thxlogo appears before the film...YES? 'Nuff said.

I don't understand why we worry about this kind of minutiae.

BTW , after viewing the Votes cast...great catch on the Featurettes issue.

WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I missed that but as I noted i would still be inclined to check the THX box since we don't have any way to explain it, and we probably shouldn't. I think we can get carried away with the minutiae.

Especially since we have one user who is busily trying to standardize all the Cast and crew data for every movioe in his collection, even though they were made in some other country according to his liittle country copy. That is a far more important issue, sinec we do KNOW that Cast and Cerew are NOT necessarily UNIVERSAL. Yes, Tim, it's you. And all i can say is god help you when I get my films out of storage and I start finding the inevitable data which you have corrupted just so we can all bow at the standard of TIM.

No it doesn't.  Which is why i asked the question.  There is nothing on the media to indicate the BD is THX.

There is nothing but this tiny logo on the jacket.  I'm sure it occurs but i don't recall ever seeing a jacket logo without the on screen equivalent.  It left me wondering if they meant the same thing.  If it does, fine, if not i wanted to add that to my No vote.

I think that violates the Forum Rules, Tim, so I'm afraid a call to a moderator is in order!

I agree with Hal.  Skip's post was not a threat of physical violence, it was a threat of exposure.  There was no need to escalate it beyond that.  If you are "pretty sick and tired of this pathetic behaviour," Ken has given you a solution...forum blocks.  I just wish he would offer a solution for the pathetic behavior I am sick and tired of.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I'm getting to this stage as well. I don't expect everyone to agree with everyone else all the time, that would be boring but all the petty bickering that goes on between a few people really is quite irritating. I'm not talking about posts that simply don't agree with a particular view point but those who say that if you don't agree then you're trying to corrupt the database or those who post something that's just plain insulting, etc... I just can't understand the need for it.

Reminds me of the NFL.  It's always the second guy in a scuffle that gets flagged.

The difference is that in the NFL the referee may not see the initial foul.  In a forum thread, that shouldn't happen.

The solution, Unicus, is to stop allowing some users to run amuck and cause damage to the database.
