A profile (IF06B6B198A259DE9) is waiting approval for The Wild Angels which was side A of a Midnite Movies release in 2005 but the same disc was used for the same title as side B in The Roger Corman Collection (released 2007 so the earlier release takes precedence).  Obviously this will screw up The Roger Corman Collection so can we have a facility so when you add the disc you are asked to choose which one you want to add, just as if it were The Wild Angels (UK) or The Wild Angels (US)?

At present the only way to have different profiles for DVDs (and BDs) with the same EAN or disc ID is if they are in different localities, but is there any way to amend this so we can have 2 (or more) profiles if a disc is released with the same EAN as a previous release or if different titles share the same disc ID?

Unless I was dreaming at the time, I'm sure I read a thread not that long ago where someone said that Ken had forced a same ID/EAN/UPC into the database so it's technically possible. I personally think that it comes down to space. While 1 re-release wont add much extra space, if say 10% of the database had multiple releases for the same ID/etc... in the database then that's quite a sizable increase for space required.

I'd be interested in hearing about how to do this or how this was done.  As far as I was aware, there could only be one profile per Disc ID/UPC per locality

It's an exception that needs to be made by Ken. So you would need to contact him and see if he'll make such an exception for this profile.

the only existing exception is Terminator 2 I believe. And Ken did this years ago.

If the EAN and disc ID both match, the database could check if the release date is different and then it would be allowed as a new profile. The problem is, how do you change an incorrect release date? You'd need some kind of checkbox to specifically create a new profile, or just update the existing profile...

Could there also be a case for two entries where you have the same title twice?  For example, I own the Starship Troopers boxset and Starship Troopers but can only put that title in once; what's needed is one profile for the child profile (via disc ID) with the same covers as the parent and another for the separate release which has a different set of information.
