How does CLT react if the same person is credited more than once in same profile?

Hi all,

I'm doing full Ver. 3.5 Cast and Crew audit for all OZ seasons. I've been using CLT along the way, but now I'm afraid that after I'm done, my accepted contributions have alone effected the CLT results for some actors so much that when I'm done with all six seasons, I have to start all over again....

So, if the same person is credited for example 16 times in one profile, is it 16 hits or 1 on CLT?
What about if he's credited two or more different ways inside the same profile and I have used credited as? For example 8 times John Doe and by the CLT results at that time 8 times John Doe [John T. Doe]?

Ummm yeah, It certainly does.

Define your varies comment.

Bob Young and Robert Young, if the same person in two different episodes, would be seen as two separate credits, as they should be, it is for us to tie Bob Young to Robert Young.

Assuming nobody caught it, and the 'credited as' wasn't used, he would be treated as two different people by the CLT.  Take Alexander Siddig as an example.  During his early days of DS-9 he was used the name Siddig El Fadil.  If we don't create the 'Alexander Siddig [Siddig El Fadil]' entry, the CLT doesn't know it is the same person.

Edit: I see Skip said the same thing.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

No, my point was that if the same person is credited twice inside the same profile and credited as is used which one counts?

John Doe and John Doe [John T. Doe] inside the same profile.

as I noted the program does not know anything, John and John T. may be the same credit to YOU9 and even me), but the program sees them as totally different and both would be counted. Until you inform the program that John and John T. aere the same persone, it will count them both separately.

Because the Credited As field is used to create the CLT listings [Ken has mentioned this numerous times here in the forums i believe] there would be one CLT listing for John Doe and one for John T. Doe created.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

So you are saying that same person can get two CLT listings from the same profile if credited as is used.

I just checked Quentin Tarantino in Kill Bill where has unique credits as Quentin Tarantino for Writing and Directing and a third (OCB) as Quentin Tarantino[Q].

The CLT has one listing under Quentin Tarantino with the first two credits noted and if you search the CLT for Q you get the the same UPC [786936-715545].

So i'd say yes they can.

Thanks for the clarification. Playing with CLT really sucks. I hope that in (near) future version on DVDP we'll get a fuctional linking...
