I recently came across these crew roles:  "Make-up Supervison & Underwater Photography" and I was wondering if they would be accepted under the rules.

Based on the crew chart, I have to agree with Skip.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Are we not crediting makeup supervisors?

I'm just asking because Wally Westmore, the makeup guy for Paramount, was typically credited as makeup supervisor.  That's also the only makeup credit in these old films.  The same happens on and off for Jack Pierce at Universal.

From what is in the chart, it's not allowed at this time.

Wow...the man who single-handedly created the iconic Frankenstein image as we know it doesn't get a credit.  I'm thinking we might have missed the mark there.

Yet more reasons for the chart to be updated. It was probably just not thought of as there are so many different variants for what is essentially the same job.

Yeah, fair enough.  I remember when we were going over those roles in the rules forum that the new art credits were going to be difficult to get our arms around.  I have every confidence that they will get cleaned up eventually.  I guess in the meantime I should just eat my crew credits, because I'm not going to go back and remove those folks, only to add them back in later.

Another reason why the wording of the main rule needs to be changed.  We credit the Department Head but not the supervisor?  Doesn't quite make sense to me.  If the wording were changed, these credits that are close would be allowed.

"Make-up Supervision" obviously warrants inclusion. "Underwater Photography" does not.

Careful, you're treading on common sense there.

I would think/want 'supervisor', 'created by', 'designed by' and/or 'design' should all get credits, and have probably included one or 2 in recent audits without thinking about it.

Since nobody can ever think of all different variants possible, it would be handy if functional equivalents would be allowed per the rules.

I'm just guessing here, but do you have a macro coded to some function key to basically make this same post with a single key press?  It would save a lot of time.

I don't think that I have made the same post already. Can you point me to the duplicate?
The topic of valuable addition of crew member which are not yet allowed by the rules is a repeating topic in this forum though.
