Just enter it for either the parent OR the child profiles.  Unless the program is forcing you to enter the data twice?

Anyone know why you have to enter SLOT and LOCATION information for EACH DISK in a box set AND then do the same to each SEASON entry? Any easier way?

The child profiles for TV series are optional, all profiles are user created, all pertinent information is in the parent profile.  What that means to you is there is redundant disc information in the child profile (or the parent, it is up to you).

You can remove the disc information from the parent profile and retain it in the child profiles, then you won't have to enter anything twice (except what you've already done).

I don't use Slot/Location information but i generally remove TV Series Parent profile disc information (retaining it in the child profiles) so that if i drop a disc in the CD-ROM it finds the proper child profile and not the parent (which is the default behavior).

The program is pretty much as flexible as YOU want it to be.

If I try to sort by Location and slot (which I prefer) the boxed sets do not sort properly unless SLOT and LOCATION info is filled out for both Parent and Child. So I have to enter the data twice which makes no sense. And even by doing that right now they won't sort properly because there is no SLOT or LOCATION info in the main box set entry like Babylon 5 Series 1-5.

Also I have recently found that wonderful "doesn't sort properly" Windows thing with PAGE 10 entries sorted before PAGE 1 entries (when it's supposed to be in ascending order), so now I have to re-enter and pad with zeroes (yeesh!) all the stuff I added already.

I like the program, really I do; paid for it just now but really confused at the need to re-enter data a LOT for profiles that should propagate automatically and the searches (add new dvd or search library) difficulties like not remembering my settings like I want "substring search" ALWAYS, want to Title Search ALWAYS and even the substring search doesn't work properly. If I enter TREK COMPLETE I don't get Star Trek the Complete Original Series disks that are in my library. However if I do TREK and under other enter COMPLETE I get it. A lot of weird gotta keep clicking and not re-typing to get things done. Just trying to get used to the program but there seem to be a number of weird quirks.

Thanks for the substring search for titles in my library. Any way to check Full substring search by default in the Add DVD by title?

It's weird that this program kinda needs reprogramming to remember basic function preferences.

Why not just add the locations to the child profiles then filter out the parent?  Fairly quick to do with a filter set, especially if you save the set with the desired sort order too.
