Good day, Sirs,

for me personally it's not always easy to decide when it's expected to follow the Rules or when it's expected to ignore the Rules.

If the crew credits are devided into

Main Unit
...
...

Second Unit - Nova Scotia
...
...

United Kingdom
...
...

should all three credited Directors of Photography be entered, only the first, the first and the second or the first and the third?

Why?

Love, bbbbb

"Unit Photographers" are specifically listed in the "Incorrect Roles" column of the crew credits table in the rules. As such, I would only enter the main one.

One. The Main Unit.

The Rules specifically exclude unit DPs/Cinematographers which is generally translated as anything but the Main person(s).

Oh, I have scrolled down the credits and there appeared still more unit crew members.

It is right then to enter every other unit crew Role but Unit Director and Unit Photographer?

Generally then convention is to only use Main crew and avoid sub-Unit crew.  ("if you can't use Unit for some Roles, why use it for any").

Adding unit crew will generally get you some No votes.

But on which basis?

It would have been much easier to generally forbid unit crew.

But the rules explicitly forbid only Unit Directors and Unit Photographers.

It very much looks like this has been done on purpose.

Yes it would.  Discussions to rules changes regarding this are ongoing right now.  (The link is to the Contribution Rules forum - you need only ask to get access)

That is correct, currently.

There are no facts to back up that assertion.  Equally valid is the assertion that forbidding other types of Unit crew was omitted accidentally.  Because the Rules are of two minds about Unit crew the convention has developed to not add them.  Ask yourself: why would you want (of what value is) the Unit Production Sound Mixer when you can't add the Unit Director or DP?

While that may be the general consensus, they aren't forbidden by the rules at this time.
