About two weeks ago in my local any newly added cover image, after being resized, started producing some terrible quality cover images.
Usually the process I go through to add or submit new covers images is this:
Scan in at 500dpi
Do all the appropriate cleaning of the cover image
Submit
Resize to width of 550 and whatever corresponding height
The quality of the image after being resized would obviously downgrade slightly, but that was all fixed (and still is) when a submission is approved and the system automatically resizes the cover to the appropriate size.
Now, the quality is absolutely horrible. It's completely pixelized, blurry, choppy and generally just crappy.
This makes scanning in re-release cover scans that I have, basically useless to me at this point, because the image is so crappy it's clearly visible from the main page or in the profile itself or in the full size image you get when you click on the cover on the mainpage.
Like I said, up until about two weeks ago, this wasn't a problem. Images would re-size just fine with hardly any quality loss at all.
In my options for DVD Cover Image Quality, I do have High Quality selected along with High Quality Resize and that hasn't changed, so I'm not entirely sure what the problem could be.
If anyone has any suggestions, it'd be greatly appreciated!

| | Posted: | | | | Yikes. Just did a test with a current submission I have pending for American History X.
I loaded the full size scan into the profile (the one scanned in at 500dpi), clicked okay, ignored contributing it again and then went back into the profile to try resizing again to see if I missed anything that could be of use.
It's not just when I resize that I lose quality. The 500dpi image that's currently loaded for the profile, after exiting the profile and going back into it, also loses quality, big time. It's not as visible on the main page or when I click on that image to see full size, but in the actual profile, the image on it's own, downgrades in quality to again being totally pixelated, blurry, choppy etc. etc.
So it's not only when I resize, it's now apparently when I add ANY new image (no matter what size as I also tried resizing the cover image outside of DVDProfiler and loading it, and I'm still getting the same results).
I've also already tried re-downloading the program and starting a new database and restoring it from back-up, and the problem still happens. | | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. | | | | Last edited: by Merrik |
