Quite confused filtered 170.000 DVDs from the Database but I have no filters active.
Furthermore I cannot find DVDs that are in the Database.

Check under Tools->Options->Defaults under Regions to Include, sounds like you have only included region 1.

EDIT: Nevermind, I looked at your picture now and see that you have region 2 profiles listed. Can't say what's wrong then, I have 418,235 filtered out of 418,769. Still not all but close...

I was thinking it may be more likely to be Parental Controls.
There's a tickbox in the Options called "hide adult titles in online listing" - make sure it's not ticked.

Is Hard to die the first profile in your list?
It should be -2 Livello del Terrore.

My mnother had recently the very same problem. Her total count was nearly as high as my was (although 700 titles were missing). But when we were searching for something I found it and she didn't.

Close DVDP. In your "Documents and Settings" folder and under your username you'll find a folder "Application Data" and then "DVD Profiler". Delete the files OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod. Then restart DVDP and try to add a DVD. DVDP will download theses lists from scratch.

Thank you very much. That helped.
I do not know how the Database got corrupted. Closed it like always.
