I have a few questions about boxsets and how to properly use them in DVD Profiler. Basically, I don't quite understand the parent / child profiles and how to properly use them. I also would like to know what the auto-expand boxset option is supposed to do.
For example, I have James Bond Volume 3, which includes The World is Not Enough, Goldfinger and Moonraker, and have added that in DVD Profiler. But, I want to be able to manipulate them separately so I can keep track of how many times I've watched each, rate the PQ, AQ, extras, etc.. So, what is the proper way to do that?
I didn't think there was a way to do it so I decided I would just add profiles for the regular standalone copies (even though I don't have those) and much to my surprise, found profiles for each movie that are associated with my boxset (cover images reflect my boxset). So, how do I properly use this in DVD Profiler? Do I remove the main/parent profile (so my count isn't off by 1) and just keep these child profiles or am I somehow supposed to be able to access these child profiles from the parent?

| | Posted: | | | | Yep, you're doing it right. In general: when you have a box set, look in the central database for the parent profile, download it and then press Ctrl-F12 to search for the child profiles. They will be attached to the parent automatically.
And if you have a box set that's not in the database yet and you want to contribute it, including child profiles: the best way is to start with the child profiles, and once you get those done (and contributed) create the parent profile. You can then assign the children to the parent in Box Set Contents, and contribute the parent. | | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |
