Hi Everyone,

Is there a way to upload profiles that have the same UPC code?

At the moment i have to upload one with the correct UPC and the other with it's Disk ID.

What has happened is the media company had produced Part 1 and Part 2 of a series in two seperate Keep Cases and has allocated the same UPC, crazy i know!

So if there is a way please let me know, otherwise i'll keep adding them the way i am.

Thanks.

Start by reading our Contribution Rules, this will probably help you sort out the procedure. For cases where a UPC has been assigned to more than one title, which does happen, then you are doing the right thing.

But it sounds like you are describing a Boxset.

If parts 1 and 2 share the same UPC, only one can be contributed by UPC and the other one indeed has to be contributed by Disc ID.

If these two parts are in a box set:
- if the box set has a different UPC, the above still applies - the box set can be contributed by its own UPC (parent profile - see Contribution Rules);
- if the box set has the same UPC, I'd say: contribute the box set (parent profile - see Contribution Rules) by UPC and the two parts by Disc ID.
- if the box set has no UPC, the above still applies - the box set can be contributed by the Disc ID of the part that was contributed by UPC.

Reminds me that a couple years ago, one of those dollar-DVD outfits used one UPC for all DVDs in a given genre. There were some pretty good movies involved, some not available anywhere else, for instance The Dunera Boys with Bob Hoskins, about Germans and German-origin residents of Britain, mostly Jews, transported to a prison camp in Australia as enemy aliens.
