Anyone know why The Jungle Book: Platinum Edition UPC 786936717488 gets blocked by the Add DVD picker unless I disable my parental controls?

It's rated 'G' and doesn't have 'Adult' as a genre.

Downloaded, it doesn't seem affected regardless of setting, but it won't show in the picker.  Weird!

I think it's got something to do with the scene featuring King Louie and the bananas.

I'm not able to replicate this. What are your exact parental control settings and what are you searching on in the Add DVD window?

Adult Title Definition:
Content Rating: 'Adult' Ratings Only
Or Has Adult Genre checked

Forbid Adult Titles selected

Search by UPC results in "Hidden by parental control..." link

Search by title does not find the Platinum Edition.

Where's a mod when you need one.

Really sorry but I still can't duplicate this.
Other (proper adult) titles are filtered out when I enable parental controls, but Jungle Book always turns up in the searches without a problem.
I just can't think of any reason why you'd be getting a different result.

I appreciate your checking it.  I'll play around with it and post again if I figure anything out.

Searching for title "jungle book", Region 1, any Media, US locality, Any release, Any ratings, Any genres with:

Forbid Adult titles off gives 19 results

Forbid Adult titles on gives 17 results.  The one I put above and Jungle Book 2: Special Edition (UPC 786936750010) are filtered.

I don't wither.
try clearing genre and rating,
do db repair
then entery genre and rating.
check after each step.

I already own the one in your first post, and it always shows up as long as I'm looking for G titles.

With no parental control set, when I searched using your first settings (bolded above), I get 13 titles. The only way I get 19 titles is to set the Locality to Any. When I set the rating from Any to picking all of the rating choices, I only get 16. When changing the rating I get:
NR: 5
G: 9
PG: 2
PG-13 thru Adult: 0
The only way to see all 19, for me anyway, is to select the Any box on the rating line. Those 3 titles that won't show up using individual rating filters don't have any rating set, which is why they don't show up I suppose.

I added all 18 of the remaining titles and turned on parental controls and none of them were hidden in my local. The Add DVD window still shows all 19 titles with adult controls set on, unless I uncheck Any and select all available ratings, again only showing 16 titles as explained above. I don't use the parental controls, so I'm not sure how various settings there might be affecting your results, but I can not duplicate them.

Thanks for trying all that.  I wonder why a different user would get different results...  I tried the stuff Srehtims suggested (Db repair, etc.):

deselecting Any ratings (but leaving all choices selected) brings it from 19 to 14

deselecting Any genre brings it from 19 to 13. (One of these has only the genre Animation.)

One of the titles with a rating of NR, only shows up if I have R ticked.  Strange.

Anyhoo, since I was able to add the disc to my local and see it there, I'm not going to lose any sleep.  If Invelos or someone else wants some more info or screenshots or something, I'd be glad to oblige.

Thanks, all.
