Would "Developed for Television by" be allowed as "Created by"?

Thanks

"Developed by" is a writing credit; however, it's given to writers who don't qualify for the "Created by" credit for one reason or another. Here's a link to the Writer's Guild rules for each credit. Aside from the issue that "Developed by" isn't listed in the chart, I wouldn't include it as equivalent to "Created by".

I would say 'no'.  This credit is given to the person who took an existing idea, usually a movie, and turned it into a TV series.  They didn't create it, they helped adapt it.

There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.

In my own collection, I've seen such "developed by" credits only in cases where there's an actual "created by" credit as well. As such, I didn't seem like an equivalent to me, and so I didn't include it. I did store it locally as a custom "other" credit, though.

I agree.

Stargate SG-1 springs to mind.

Andromeda uses the same wording.  I entered it locally under a custom role.
