| | Posted: | | | | I rent dvd's so I have more than one copy of a movie, How or What should I do to input each copy of the movie? I would like to use the "loaned" copy so I know which machine it is in but don't want to have to list each movie individually say 6 times (not even sure I can).
Can anyone offer suggestion? |

| | Posted: | | | | This program is not set up to show more than one copy of a dvd. You can make a note in the note section or use the tagging system to show you have more than one copy of a dvd. You could make manual profiles for each one, as well. You could also use the disc ID as one profile and the UPC as one profile.
With that said, I don't believe this program is set up to be used in a commercial way. It's for personal use and while, yes, you can show a person as having loaned it out, but it is not designed for people to have multiple copies of the exact same dvd in their database. | | | | Lori |

I only started using because my dad is a long time user of ivnelos and he showed me the other day and said it might be good for me to use to keep track of what I have other than doing it in an excel spreadsheet. He also suggested to me that I make manual profiles, said that would be the only way and that I should set them using a label system, but I feel that is too much work.
I just like the idea of getting the synopsis with out having to go to IMBD for the info on a movie. It was only a thought of tracking my movies this way. I have a lot of friends that borrow our movies from us and this would be good to track them that way but I guess not really for the business side of it. I am thinking it will be too much work and the fun part of it would be taken away. I will continue doing it the way I started and just record how many movies I own in the note section. I sure do appreciate your input and insight on it! Thanks much! |

There are REAL retail store-style programs available but as noted they will cost you considerably more than $30, In short, the program is not designed nor intended for the use you wish to use it for. Sorry.

The outer box had a UPC, which did not exist in the online database, so I created it manually. None of the individually packaged DVDs in the collection had any UPCs, so I entered they using the "By Inserted DVD" method. That worked for three out of the four titles. (Several years before, I had purchased the individual title, "The Unforgiven". Now, I did not enter any UPC for that title in the Costco box set, so it must have been encoded on the DVD, and DVD Profiler picked it up, and used it, rather than the Disc ID. I finally just made a new manual addition to complete the box set, but I'm wondering if there is any way that DVD Profiler can "properly" deal with a child component of a box set (distinct DVD and packaging) that is the same title as a previously purchased title.
