That's actually an amazing idea With screenshots and everything this would be cool. I've done trailer collection dvds of my movies in the past so I see where you're coming from.

You could copy all your front images on the command line with "copy *f.jpg <target>" into a new folder and then burn it onto a CD/DVD.

Why not output your computer to the TV? That's easy to do.

I've been contemplating doing just what Skip said with outputting to a TV and using DVDP to select movies to play.

However, you can easily create a photo DVD using one of many off-the-self solutions.  Nero does it I believe and comes with a trial.

@dan001987

Just you case you missed the drift here, many modern DVD players have a built-in "jpg" picture viewer. If yours has this capability, DJ's idea makes it extremely simple to do what you want to do ...

If you need to know where the images are, just ask, and I'm sure somebody will post the exact command you need to use to get the cover images.
Thanks for your support.

Love the photo-cd idea, but I can see a couple of downsides.  Child images would have to be weeded out because of all the repitition.  My only other problem would be having to burn a new cd every week to account for new purchases.

Every week? You've got it made, pal. That's why I pipe it directly to my TV.

Hey now, some of us still have to pay a mortgage.

The TV thing sounds like a good idea in theory, but it starts to break down for my family.  As it stands now, the television and the computer are in separate rooms and two different people can be using either and not bothering the other.  Hook them up and now one person is monopolizing both devices.

why not use a media server just to serve up the pictures to the TV? I'm using Twonky (version 4.11) and a PS3 attached to the PC. (note I couldn't get v5 to work correctly)

I'm using this to play videos and music on my TV which are stored on the PC. But displaying photos is also an option - you would just need to select the correct directory to be indexed/displayed. Then on the PC just select the folder with the covers (and ignore the sub folder with the thumbnails).
