Hello,

I have bought a NAS drive and I want to centralize the DVD profiler database on the NAS. So if I am on any computer and I want to change or add a dvd to my collection, it is seen on all computers.

Now I know, in DVD profiler you can change the path of all kind of folders. All kind except the important one, the Database itself.

Can anyone tell me how I can change the path to the database, so I can put the database on the NAS and run DVD profiler from any computer. Without saving the database on those computer's internal drive?

thanks,
Hans

Easiest way, copy your current "Default" DB to your new NAS drive. Run DVDP then select File > Open Database, then browse to the "Default" on the NAS drive open that version and then tell DVDP that it IS the "Default" DB.

Next time you open DVDP it will point to this version of the DB.

Then each computer in turn will have to be set up the same way (browse to the new location). Just remember it's the same as any other DB...only one machine will be able to access / change files at any one time else one very corrupt DB file.

Use File / Open Database / New Database.
It has a check box if you want to copy the existing database - which you do.
so then browse and select a new destination for the database on the NAS drive.

easy peasy.
