Well, this seems as good a place as any to inquire, rather than firing up a new thread.

I had (have?) Profiler on the other computer in the house, the older version.  But that computer is slowly dying.  So I got it (and the upgrade) on this computer now.

Well, in the past I had a hard time getting the old Profiler information on to this computer.  In fact, I didn't manage to get it on here, and when I did some input (about a 100 or so DVDs) and put it online, it overwrote the other 1,000 or so that WERE on here.  I THINK I still have the old list on a flash drive, but that's actually not my question.

The problem is this:  For some strange reason, Profiler on here seems to move rather slowly.  Whereas it used to be that when I was adding inventory offline, it would pretty much be instantaneous.  But now it takes 30 seconds to a minute to get to the screen where you enter date of purchase etc., and again 30 secs to a min. to complete the entry from that screen.

Any ideas as to why this is?

Since you had 1000 or so on Line and you then fired up new computer, installed software and then manually put 100 dvds in and then-- uploaded that list of 100 back to Invelos.,,  it will and should have replaced the 1000 with the 100 you now put in its place.
So the Old computer may still have all the titles you need as a saved .dpb on its harddrive.. if you feel the flash drive is out of date or misplaced.. you may want to hook up the old HD to the new PC via USB/IDE cable/ or Sata if that is the type it needs for transfer.

Regarding the speed of the New PC over the OLD  what are the specifics for the GZ and MB of Ram??

I wish I knew.  I'm quite certain this computer is newer, but it's certainly not brand new.  I was just kind of hoping that there was some small glitch in the program that I could correct.  Everything else I deal with on the computer (both on- and offline) moves just fine.  It's just involving the one program...

And again, as far as the other dvds are concerned, I think I've got them on a flashdrive from a month or two ago when I tried to transfer the info from one computer to the next.  Whether or not I'll actually be able to do that is a different story.  Ultimately I'm not nearly as bothered by that as I am by the slowness...

The "slowness" could be caused by anything. The most likely suspects would be plugins, unistall them, possibly the layout, reload or try another. Programs running in the background, i.e., Firewalls and Anti-Virus programs, can also have an effect on DVD Profiler. Try disabling them and see how it goes.
