| | Posted: | | | | This program used to run just fine for me, now I only have to click one thing and the whole program stops responding. I have the latest version of the program and I am running Vista 32.
In case it is relevant (as if there is a cap or something) I have 381 dvds / blu-rays listed on the program, and this problem is doing my head in.
Any suggestions? |

As to the freezing, the #1 culprit for this is a firewall. Try temporarily disabling your firewall to see if that resolves the issue. If so, re-enable and configure it to allow DVD Profiler to access the Internet, a task that must be repeated with each program update. | | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

 Boy do I feel Inadequate now! I'm running out of space in my room for DVDs, I'll need to move out before I can get any more room. Difference between me and these 20,000 people is that I am very selective when it comes to the DVDs I add to my collection, only putting in ones that I would enjoy. Quoting Ken Cole: Quote:

| | Posted: | | | | I'm having the same issue, though it seems to only freeze when I'm editing any profile information...specifically, selecting "personalize" on child profiles in box-sets and changing the collection number. I rebuilt the database, and uninstalled/reinstalled the software a few times to no effect.
I've only been using this for about a week, but the problem didn't seem to start showing up until I installed the latest version yesterday (1252, i believe).
I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. |

| | Posted: | | | | same problem for me too. As soon as I upgraded to 1252 the program would become unresponsive when I clicked on anything once the program started. I tried installing the latest beta and that too becomes unresponsive. I guess I need to go back to the previous version. Would like to get this fixed so I can use the new version though. |

What OS are you running? Have you other programs running? ...? I hope I'm not thread-jacking since we all seem to have the same problem. For me, pressing ALT and starting the program just brings up the shortcut properties. I'm doing this over a remote desktop connection at the moment so ALT might have a different action over a local connection. My firewall is off at the moment and I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. No problems with other programs. This freezing issue just started with the latest version of Profiler installed. BTW, I don't see any download links for previous versions of the program. I'm using windows firewall, and I can't find where to put those specific addresses into, but I have made sure that DVD Profiler is on the exceptions list... Other than that, the problem still works. I can't check my plugins because the program freezes whenever I do anything |

This should be looked into. Notice that it is happening to a lot of users.

UPDATE!!!! Possible GLOBAL FIX for EVERYONE!!!
Hey - I know that this sounds like a "No Brainer", But it actually worked for me!
Evidently, I had done some installs, or upgrades before this, maybe even a Windows Update.
Because when DVD Profiler Froze up? I REBOOTED MY PC.
And when I did a couple of RUNDLL's said they were finished, etc, then when it was done?
All was well.
As weird as it sounds, reboot.
And when you are FULLY rebooted, meaning all icons by the clock are there, etc, run DVD Profiler 3.51
It really worked for me.
