I'm getting the following message when I try to upload the collection after I logged in.

Acces violation at address 00AAF06 in module 'dvdpro.exe'. Read of address 00000008

How can I fix this?

Try a database repair. In DVD Profiler go to Tools > Options > Utilities > Repair Database.

After the first upload a few months ago I installed DVDpro on a different pc with another name (same user and login but another pc name). Could that be the problem?

I doubt it but anything is possible. See what other people suggest before you try this but as a last resort you could create a new blank database and upload that then switch to your current database and try again.

Slightly insufficient data:
Does the download of profiles work?
Which OS (WindowsXP, Vista, other) and which version?
Which Security software are you running?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Please try the following:
Go to DVDProfiler menu "Tools -> Options -> Online" and test the internet connection.

The internet connection was OK. The 3.5.1 update was the solution, it resolved the problem...

Ever since updating/upgrading to: 3.5.1 (Build 1252)

I find that I am unable to finish a upload of my collection...
The upload is done in many parts::
{1} Scan collection - Finishes
{2} Connects to the server - Finishes
{3} Preparing collection list - Finishes

{4} Uploading and Processing list -
-Does not finish on first try and have to cancel after waiting for up to 30mins...
-Finishes on second try??

{5} Uploading changed profiles - Finishes after canceling and retrying on second try??

Why and I having to cancel part four to finish the upload???

Firewall? Internet restriction software? ...
Have you tested the settings in dvd profiler?
DVD Profiler menu: Tools > Options > Online?
Test Internet Connection? Try alternate Internet connection?
Are you behind a the internet provider proxy? find those details, fill those in.
How fast is your internet connection? modemphone? ADSL, Cable modem, ...?

Internet test is Successful..
The file(s) are getting uploaded... and are being listed..
it is like the command to move to the next step or complete the function is not being echoed back from the server?

So how can I test my firewall?...

This is a VISTA machine running AVG Internet Protection
(and have XP <-> VISTA home network issues.. as AVG keeps resetting itself to a higher protection level)

VISTA home? Basic, Premium? take a look in Vista help files for firewall

I'm not familiar with AVG Internet Protection are there any settings what an individual program is allowed to do on the Internet? trusted webadresses? (could add www.invelos.com and static.invelos.com to those) see if that improves it?

VISTA Home Premium!
I have yet to figure out how to set Windows Firewall to allow program ''XYZ'' full access..
But with AVG.. its settings are set to allow DVDProfiler full access to the network and since I am able to upload... I am baffled as to what is not being allowed to be received to move to the next/last step!
