Sounds to me like you are being told that there iis a newer version, not aht you have one. We are beta testing 3.51, now,

If you install the final release of version 3.5 rather than a 3.5 beta, you shouldn't get this message.  There seem to be folks who are running the last 3.5 beta rather than the actual release version.

I get the same message when I am trying to use the release version of 3.5.0. You can still use it. When you get the pop up that there is a newer version all you have to do is click ok and it should pop up a couple of more times, then finally it will go away and 3.5 will load up.

When you testing the new version of 3.5.1, you do not get that message.

What's your complete version# (check via DVDProfiler menu "Help -> About").
Anything lower than a Build 1240 is not the release- but a beta version.
Usually the release versions don't report betas as new versions, so the described behaviour would be very interesting.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I posted a note on the beta forum to alert the programmer to this.

When I was using 3.5.0 (1240)  I got the same error message that there was a newer version. As long as I click the OK a couple of times it would finally go away and it would load up. The message was a litttle annoying so I downloaded the beta version and that message went away because I had it overwrite the 3.5.0 (1240). Now I only use the beta.
