Apparentely there is one dvd in my collection that is giving issues. When I upload my local collection to the online one it always shows that my local collection has one dvd more. But after synchronization and trying to synchronize again it is indicating that there is still one title difference. Anyone any suggestion to find out which dvd is causing this problem (without going through both the online and local collection one by one)?

Thanks,

Jack

Do your Total DVDs and Filtered numbers match at the top of your Collection List? How do these numbers compare to the totals given when you upload your collection?

Try creating a backup of your database and then restoring it into a new, blank database.
But instead of telling to restore all profiles, check the box to restore specific profiles, then check the list to see if any strange or blank entries jump out at you.

Ok, looking at it a little more than one thing that is odd is that the total says 859, where filtered says: 858 even though I've cleared all filters.

As northbloke has already said the best way out of this one is to do a backup of your DB. then create a "New" DB (if need be call it Jack DVD), then restore the previously backed up DB, but to use the Check Box "Restore Specific Profiles" you will then be shown a list asking which profiles you wish to restore, if need be restore a few at a time (yes it will take longer) but you should end up with all titles that you own restored to a working DB without the title that you cannot find.

Just by clearing the filters won't show the errant title.

You might want to check your "Parental Controls"

@ Jack:

I once had an issue exactly like this with a "ghost" entry. It turned out to be a double of a music DVD already in my collection, but I couldn't edit or delete it in my local collection list and it wouldn't upload to my online collection. I could only identify it by displaying all movies the leading music performer appeared in - it was impossible to get to it just by browsing my local collection. So to find it, I would suggest for each profile in your local collection to display all movies the leading actor appeared in (by clicking on "Cast Information") and see if there are any strange doubles.

In the end, northbloke's approach solved it for me. So yes, I would definitely recommend following his suggestion. Added suggestion: while going through the profiles in the backup you're going to restore, look for doubles. If you find any: try which one of the two is behaving oddly (e.g. by trying to edit the profile in question in your regular collection). Once you've found it: that's the one to leave out of the restore operation.

For me, this was the only way to get rid of the "ghost" profile (I tried all sorts of ways, but only this worked).

Once you've successfully completed a restore along these lines, you can 1) create a backup of your "cleaned" collection and 2) delete the collection version containing the "ghost" profile.

I find such ghost entries occasionally, always hiding in the Wish list (with the real copy under owned).

No, in my case it was in the Owned list.
