I just upgraded to 3.5 from 3.1. When I add a title to my collection using UPC I get a "Invalid floating point operation" dialog box from DVD Profiler. If I ignore the error by hitting the "OK" button and input another number I get the error again. If I keep inputing numbers, eventually my entries will complete and I can update my profile. It is a pain  to use it this way, is there a fix or must I reinstall the program? I did rebuild my data file with no problems so my data file seems to be fine.

Do other programs show this anomaly too?

Usually floating point errors nowadays only occur if the CPU is overheated or otherwise defective.

Corrupt installations might also cause this, so if the error only occurs in DVDProfiler try a clean reinstall (uninstall first).
If other programs are effected too download SiSoft Sandra Lite.
After installing it perform the Burn-In-Test with 100% CPU usage and 10 runs
Use the safe mode that watches temperature and fan speed.
On an intact system this should cause no problems so watch out for unusual temperature rises (more than 3°C within one run).
If the test passes without failing please come up again.

EDIT: If you're running an overclocked system reset it to default values and see if the error still occurs.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

When playing with getting DVDP working on Linux, this exact error was one of the problems (although it made the app completely unusable rather than just being a pain). This MAY be a similar issue.

In my case, the problem was because the Wine 'emulator' did not have the Tahoma font installed. You may be lucky enough for this to also be Tahoma. You should be able to find and install the font without too much trouble.

If it's not Tahoma, I don't have any more suggestions I'm afraid, other than I think it is more likely to be OS related than the app.

Just out of curiosity, which OS are you running?
This is a sig... ... ... yay...

Don't understand? Maybe DVDProfilerWiki.org does!
