I have DVD Profiler 3.5 installed on both my laptop and desktop and would like them to use a shared database to be saved on my NAS drive. I looked under the Files Folders section under options and it lists settings for some things but does not seem to have anything for profiles etc. and the help file doesn't cover it. (looks like it may be using the 3.0 help file? as it doesn't even list that tab)

Any ideas how to best do this?

Thanks,

Other user have stated that they use DVDP on a Network drive and that is is easier now that you can specify through Tools>Option>File Locations where to store the files...just remeber to tell all versions (desktop / laptop / a.n.other computer)  where to look for the files.

And also remember as with any networked files you can only have one application accessing the file at any one time or else.

Just put the database on the shared drive and then use file open to specify the location of this database.

Use file / open database to specify the location of the main data. (I've left the other files - layouts etc - as unshared since I have been using this with 3.1 - and I haven't bothered to try and share those. But with the new features in 3.5 I suppose I could move, and then share these directories as well).

This is what I've done - and the most difficult bit was remembering to share the database in windows so my laptop could see and update it.

,

there isn't a separate tab in 3.5, you have just the normal 3. (owned/ordered and wishlist)
