| | Posted: | | | | There are several errors in the Norwegian rating descriptions (it seems the descriptions have been taken from Cinema-ratings which do not apply for DVD's). Ratings should be looking like this; A = Tillatt for alle (not "tilaten for alle") 7 år = 7 år (not "barn ned til 4 år i følgje med føresette") 11 år = 11 år (not "barn ned til 8 år i følgje med føresette") 15 år = 15 år (not "unge ned til 12 år i følgje med føresette") 18 år = 18 år (not "absolutt nedre grense") I don't know how long it has been like this (just noticed it myself when doing the 3.5 upload), but the current description is both wrong and in " Nynorsk", so a change is IMO warranted  | | | Berak

However, I would go for Berak's suggestion, since the existing ratings are meant for the "Big Screen" (cinema) where a 4yo can see a 7yo rated movie in accompany(?) with an adult. Here the ratings are "restricted from under 13 year olds" etc, but e.g. "11 år" implies neither a suggestion or restriction, are the rating descriptions really like that? |

My vote would go to using "Aldersgrense x år" as rating description. |

Yes, the Norwegain rating descriptions are nothing more, nothing less. They restrict young people from seeing material not suited for them, and that IMO is what ratings are for. The simpler the better. Cinema-ratings are slightly different, as explained earlier. | | | Berak

My vote would go to using "Aldersgrense x år" as rating description. This is something that Warner Norge has suggested, and is not an "official" rating method in Norway - yet. It might be in the future, but as of now, it's enough to have "xx år" somewhere on the cover (usually on the back). If, in the future, Medietilsynet decides that all DVD's must be marked as suggested by Warner Norge, it would warrant a change to what you suggest Dag Ove. In my humble opinion..  | | | Berak
