HD DVD "300" -- No UPC = No profile? |

| | Posted: | | | | Okay, time for my dumbass newbie question. My search skills have failed me on this one so please don't hurt me.  I have a copy of " 300" on HD DVD that was included with my Toshiba HD-A3 player. Unlike the standard retail versions, it is a non-combo (ie. HD DVD only, no DVD side) and has no UPC. I currently have this in my database with a manual DVD #00..01 with almost no information in it other than the title and my purchase info. Is there no way to download a profile for this? I can't be the only one who has this but I'm guessing I'm SOL here.  |

| | Posted: | | | | You are correct for NOW, you are SOL. Prior to the current Beta, the program could not read HD/BD Disc IDs. That changes with Beta 3.5, however we are still in test mode and data from 3.5 can't be Contributed. Now, of course you will have to have an HD-DVD ROM Drive and/or a BR ROM Drive to read the appropriate discs.  Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

I would suggest you download a UPC'ed version from the online so as to clone any credits you require...then either leave it as a manual Disc ID for your collection only or use the DISC ID/UPC of the version you download. If you use the second choice you will not be able to contribute any data from your version incase it is not present or differs from the online version (ie cover scans, features etc). By following the first (leaving as manual) once 3.5 goes full and you have a HD drive in your computer you will then be able to set the Disc ID yourself. Steve |

| | Posted: | | | | Yep, here's a guide on how to clone profiles. However please make sure to verify the cast and crew credits against the actual film credits before contributing (by the time version 3.5 goes live). Not all existing profiles contain the correct data. |

I don't have a HD DVD reader for my PC so I can't do the Disc ID part of it but the rest I could probably fumble my way through. Deejay's cloning link makes it sound like a simple thing to do.
