I would like to create a second account on my DVD Profiler to enter all DVD from the "family collection".
I explain! I have my personnal collection with all my dvds and I have a family collection with the dvds my parents bought or my brother bought...
I want to create 2 different listing for both collections... How can I create a kind of second user called "family" to create the second listing?

| | Posted: | | | | For your own local DB you just create a second, third or fourth DB giving each a different name and then enter the required DVD EAN's. If you mean for the online, then you require a seperate account for each online DB.

| | Posted: | | | | It is not possible to create two accounts and operate them seperately unless you purchase another registration.
You can howver create seperate databases with your local database installation and use one for your DVDs and one for the family DVDs.
To create a second database from within DVD Profiler, go to File > Open Database > New Database. |

I like to keep my DVD and Blu-ray listings separated, both locally and online. And now I have too many Blu-rays to keep posting to the second account I made online.
Is there another way around this? If you make a custom collection category can you have it show up as a separate tab on your main listing? And if so, how could I transfer my Blu-rays from another database into a new collection category in my DVD database?

Locally in your Profiler, yes. see Create Collection CategoriesBut online they all get mashed together, and are visible only if you coose "Include contents in owned collection" in the Category-Setup. Just give it a try with a new, third database, where you merged your DVDs and BDs and load them online. If you don't like it you can always return to the previous state. If you really want a good looking online-list, you'll have to make it yourself, but that might be a lot of work. See points 4-6 Share or export your DVD/BD-listQuote:

It's too bad that this often-rumored "DVD Profiler Online Plus" isn't out yet. It sounds like that might solve at least part of my problem.
Thanks for the advice on the third (or in my case fourth--forgot to mention my small collection of HD-DVDs) database idea. I will try that out. I will also play around with making my own online list. I have my own web space, so maybe I'll just forego DVD Profiler Online completely.

I still upload to the online-list, but whenever I want show someone my DVD/BD-titles, I refer to my phpDVDProfiler-list.
